U.S.goverment repealed the exemption of a visa for Brazilian transit passengers in the U.S. According
to a newspaper in Nagoya area,Varig Brazilian Airlines is planning to resume the service to Nagoya
via an Europian city instead of Los Angeles from spring in 2004. As more than 60,000 Brazilian

From June 2002,Lufthansa German Airlines is going to add two non-stop flights between Nagoya
and Frankfurt,Germany per week to its present schedule.There will then be five flights a week
on Airbus A340-300.
After the September 11,2001 attacks in the USA,the flights were reduced from five to three times
a week from November 2001 because of the decrease in demand. However the demand is now recovering.
Now,this route is the only non-stop route between Nagoya and the Europe,because of the suspension
of Japan Airlines' route between Nagoya and London(Heathrow),the U.K. and KLM's via Sapporo,
Japan route between Nagoya and Amsterdam,the Netherlands.
